Transfer from the airport to the city

Arlanda Airport is located 37 km from Stockholm city center, between Stockholm and Uppsala. You have a variety of options for the journey to and from the airport, which vary greatly in price and duration:

Stockholm's airport buses (Flygbussarna) are probably the most frequently used transfer option. There are now three lines that not only go to the city center, but also stop at numerous stops in the suburbs.

What lines and stops are there?

Arlanda - Stockholm City/Cityterminalen The journey time to the central bus station Cityterminalen is approx. 45 minutes. The bus also stops en route at Järva Krog, Frösunda, Haga Norra, Haga Södra, Norra Stationsgatan and Sankt Eriksplan. Departure every 10 minutes from stop 1 (Terminal 1) or stop 6a (Terminal 2 and 4)
Arlanda - Liljeholmen The journey time to Liljeholmen is approx. 50 minutes, the bus also stops at Karolinska Sjukhuset, Karolinska Institutet, Torsplan, Fridhemsplan, Västerbroplan and Hornstull on the way. Departure every 20 minutes from stop 2 (Terminal 1) or stop 6b (Terminal 2 and 4)
Arlanda - Brommaplan The journey time to Brommaplan is approx. 1 hour. The bus stops en route at Kistahöjden, Norgegatan, Kista Centrum, Ärvingevägen, Mariehällskyrkan, Sundbybergs torg, Gjuteribacken, Tritonvägen, Voltavägen and Bromma Airport. Departure every 20 minutes from bus stop 2 (Terminal 1) or bus stop 6b (Terminal 2 and 4)

Arlanda Express

With a journey time of just 20 minutes, the Arlanda Express is the fastest, most environmentally friendly and most comfortable way to get directly into the city. The Arlanda Express has two stops at the airport: Arlanda South (Terminals 2, 3 and 4) and Arlanda North (Terminal 5). Trains run approximately every 10 minutes during rush hour and every 15 minutes during off-peak hours.

Mit dem Bus 583 nach Märsta

What many people don't know is that you can also get from Arlanda to Stockholm by public transport. Take the red bus 583/583X in the direction of Märsta Station, which stops at all terminals.

At the Märsta Station stop, take the commuter train to Stockholm. If you have an SL season ticket or a Stockholm Pass with Travelcard, this solution is the cheapest, as there are no additional costs.

Pendeltåg

Mit der S-Bahn von Arlanda in die Innenstadt

Since the end of 2013, there has been a Pendeltåg line from Uppsala to Stockholm, which also stops at Arlanda Airport. The Arlanda Centralstation stop is located in SkyCity between Terminals 4 and 5, but a fee (Passage-avgift) of SEK 120 is payable for getting off at Arlanda in addition to the normal SL ticket. If this fee is not included in the ticket price, it must be paid at the exit.

Taxi

A cab may not be faster than the Arlanda Express, but it will take you directly to the door of your accommodation. And if there are several people, a cab is often the cheaper alternative. Most companies advertise a fixed price (fast pris, fixed price) from around SEK 400.
