The "gate to the island of Usedom" originally had six medieval town gates. Today, the stone gate is still preserved and houses a museum. Here you can see the impressive Anklamer coin treasure. Don't miss a visit to the museum of the aviation pioneer Otto Lilienthal. Furthermore, St. Nicholas Church and St. Mary's Church fascinate with their brick Gothic, as does the Gothic Gable House. Anklam is a German city in the east of the federal state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. It is located in the district of Vorpommern-Greifswald District, around 34 km southeast of the district city Greifswald. There are about 12.000 inhabitants living in Anklam.
