Bornholm is the easternmost of the Danish Baltic Sea islands and offers beautiful sandy beaches, mainly on the south coast. Forests and charming villages with interesting sights make Bornholm one of the most popular Danish islands. The main town is Rønne and a walk through the old center with St. Nicholas Church and cobblestone streets is a must for all visitors. Also the smallest and for many the most beautiful town in the country, Swaneke, should definitely be on the excursion program when spending your vacation on Bornholm. The historic, mostly thatched half-timbered houses are an enchanting backdrop for a stroll through the town. At the northern tip of the island lies Hammerhus, the largest medieval castle ruin in Northern Europe, and the round church of Nylars, which was built as early as the 12th century, is also worth a detour.

Bornholm is the perfect destination for all those who are looking for deceleration. But also nature lovers, active holidaymakers and families with children get their money's worth here, because Bornholm offers picturesque beaches, beautiful bays, steep cliffs, gorges, valleys, forests and fields. There is also a medieval castle and an art museum to discover, because numerous painters came to the island because of the light and have immortalized them in paintings.
