Bottrop has a lot to offer. There are various museums and is hard to beat when it comes to excursions - especially with children. The landmark of the city is the Tetraeder. It is a landmark with a viewing platform in the shape of a pyramid, which can be seen from afar. Right next to it you will find the Alpincenter Bottrop, where you can ski all year round. However, this is by far not the only destination. The largest movie and amusement park in Germany, Movie Park Germany, offers a touch of Hollywood. With small children you should also visit the varied amusement park Schloss Beck with petting zoo and other activities.

Bottrop is a German city in the west of the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia, around 35 km north of the state capital Düsseldorf. There are about 118.000 inhabitants living in Bottrop.

Bottrop also includes the formerly independent municipalities of Gladbeck, Stadt and Kirchhellen.
