Braunschweig is one of the most beautiful cities in Lower Saxony for good reason. The numerous parks are oases of peace and the historic city center is characterized by historical buildings and restored half-timbered houses. On the picturesque Burgplatz square you will find the Lion and the Cathedral, both landmarks of the city. A must is a visit to the Old Town Market, which takes place around the leaden Marienbrunnen.
