Cologne is a German city in the southwest of the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia, around 34 km south of the state capital Düsseldorf. There are about 1.088.000 inhabitants living in Cologne.

Cologne also includes the formerly independent municipalities of Rodenkirchen (Bez. Köln), Brauweiler, Lövenich, Sinnersdorf, Wesseling, Stadt and Porz a. Rhein.
