The French Southern and Antarctic Territories are a French overseas territory and include the Kerguelen archipelago, the islands of Amsterdam and Saint-Paul, the Crozet Islands, Adélieland and the Îles Éparses. The islands are located in the Indian Ocean southeast of Africa, while Adélieland covers an area of 432,000 km² in Antarctica.
