Guatemala

Guatemala is a country in Central America and is bordered by Mexico to the north, El Salvador and Honduras to the south, Belize and the Caribbean to the east, and the Pacific Ocean to the west. The Mayan culture is an important part of Guatemalan history and still shapes many aspects of the country today. Guatemala is known for its colorful markets, traditional handicrafts, spectacular volcanoes and breathtaking landscapes such as Lago de Atitlán. Other attractions include the ancient Mayan ruins of Tikal, Antigua Guatemala, a beautiful colonial city, and the Mayan cult site of Quiriguá with its impressive stelae.
