Lebanon is a country in Western Asia, located between Syria to the north and east and Israel to the south. It is known for its rich history that dates back to 5,000 BC and has been influenced by various cultures. Throughout history, Lebanon was part of the Roman Empire, was ruled by various Muslim rulers, and was later part of the Ottoman Empire. After World War I, Lebanon came under French control and became independent in 1943. The country is known for its religious diversity, excellent cuisine and rich culture. The country's main attractions include the Rocks of Jeita, the ruins of Byblos and Baalbek, and the capital Beirut, which is known for its vibrant arts and culture scene.
