Nigeria is a West African country with 36 states and the capital Abuja. It is the most populous country in Africa and the seventh most populous country in the world. Nigeria is bordered by Benin to the west, Chad and Cameroon to the east, Niger to the north and the Gulf of Guinea to the south. The country's economy is among the fastest growing in the world and it is a major oil exporter. The population is multicultural with more than 200 different ethnic groups and languages. The three largest and most influential groups are the Hausa-Fulani in the north, the Igbo in the east, and the Yoruba in the west. Nigeria has a rich cultural tradition and is famous for its music, art and literature. Places of interest include Cross River National Park, Erin Ijesha Waterfalls, and the historic cities of Kano and Benin City.
