Saint-Martin is a French overseas territory on the Caribbean island of Saint Martin, the other part of which belongs to the Dutch country of Sint Maarten. The island is known for its white sandy beaches, crystal clear waters and lagoons. The history of Saint-Martin is marked by changing colonial rule, including Spain, France, Great Britain, the Netherlands and Sweden. Today, Saint-Martin is a popular tourist destination with many tourist attractions such as the Loterie Farm Park, Pinel Island and the capital Marigot with its colorful houses, cafes and stores.
