Serbia is a southeastern European country located in the center of the Balkan Peninsula. The country's history is marked by its role as the largest constituent state of Yugoslavia and the final disintegration of Yugoslavia in 2006. Typical of the country are its culinary specialties, including grilled dishes and cheese, as well as its music and folklore. Among the most important sights are the capital Belgrade, the monastery Studenica and the fortress Golubac.
