Sierra Leone is a country on the west coast of Africa, bordering Liberia to the southeast and Guinea to the north. The capital is Freetown. The country was founded by the British and gained independence in 1961.Typical of Sierra Leone are its cultural diversity, religious tolerance and its traditional drum and dance festivals. Major attractions include Outamba-Kilimi National Park, Bunce Island Slave Fort and Tacugama Sanctuary.
