East Frisian Islands
The East Frisian Islands lie strung together like pearls over a length of 90 km in the Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park. Norderney, Langeoog, Baltrum, Juist, Wangerooge, Borkum and Spiekeroog are characterized by long beaches, the sound of the sea, pure nature and an endless expanse. When you vacation on the East Frisian Islands, you are far away from the hustle and bustle and worries of everyday life. The landscape of the seven islands is very similar: Between marshland in the south and sandy beaches in the north are the dunes. However, each of the seven islands has its own character, which is attractive. A vacation on the East Frisian Islands is also always a journey to yourself.
Besides the 7 inhabited (and known) islands, there are six more East Frisian islands, which are much smaller and all uninhabited:
- Lütje Hörn, north of Borkum,
- Memmert, southwest of Juist,
- Minsener Oog, southeast of Wangerooge
- Mellum, southeast of Wangerooge and Minsener Oog
