Karpathos
The Dodecanese island of Karpathos is located approximately halfway between Crete and Rhodes and also forms the southern boundary of the Aegean Sea to the open Mediterranean Sea. On Karpathos live only a little more than 6,000 inhabitants. Most of them certainly in the main village of the same name in the southeast, which used to be called Pigadia. The remote villages there make a very traditional impression. There are beautiful mountain trails and white sandy beaches, where a lot of water sports are practiced.
The ferry port on the island of Karpathos offers connections to the other Greek islands of Thira, Rhodes, Chalki, Kasos, Crete and Anafi, as well as to the ferry port of Piraeus on the Greek mainland. A total of 16 routes are offered here several times a day by the shipping companies Blue Star Ferries, Anek Lines and SeaJets.
Anafi
Anafi is still something of an insider's tip of the Cyclades, as this island has not yet been particularly developed for tourism and is only served by a few ferries. If you still dare to come here, you will be welcomed by a warm and honest hospitality and (almost) untouched nature. If you are looking for big shopping opportunities and parties, you will not find them here - life on Anafi is rather contemplative and modest, but equally beautiful and authentic.
The ferry port on the island of Anafi offers connections to the other Greek islands of Rhodes, Thira, Paros, Chalki, Ios, Kasos, Crete, Milos, Karpathos and Naxos, as well as to the ferry port of Piraeus on the Greek mainland.
