Flensburg

Travel Guide & Travel Information
The third largest city in Schleswig-Holstein is located in the immediate vicinity of the Danish border in the far northeast of Germany on the Baltic Sea arm Flensburger Förde. Flensburg is famous, among other things, for its tradition as the North German rum capital. For some traffic offenders, Flensburg is also associated with unpleasant letters from the Federal Motor Transport Authority, which punishes certain traffic offenses ("points from Flensburg"). Above all, however, the port and university city is a place worth visiting and loving, which has been shaped to a particular extent by Danish culture.
