Grinda is one of the most popular islands in the Stockholm archipelago. Grinda is dominated by coniferous forest and rocks. Residents and guests of the island have at their disposal many swimming spots with sandy beaches and stone cliffs, sports facilities such as kayaking, archery and climbing, a busy sailing harbor and numerous well-marked hiking and biking trails. Two modern boat bridges are connected by a beautiful hiking trail.

The island of Grind consists mostly of coniferous forests and rocks. There are two rocky ridges in the southeast and northwest of the island. Between them stretches the Källviken bay. Around the southeastern part of the island leads the Grindasteig with a length of about 2.5 kilometers. The trail leads to Klubbudden, which is about 35 meters high and the highest point on Grinda. Much pasture land is grazed by flocks of sheep to contain the wild growth.

Traditionally, Grinda is particularly popular with the people of Stockholm. It was one of the first archipelagos purchased by the city to provide recreational opportunities for its citizens. The small tenement houses from the 1940s, which contrast somewhat with the representative Art Nouveau villas, still bear witness to this. One of these feudal mansions is Grinda Wärdshus, originally built as a family home by the first director of the Nobel Prize Foundation. Today, the villa houses a restaurant and bar. Grinda is now under the administration of the renowned Skärgårdsstiftelen archipelago foundation.

One of the most popular destinations is Grinda Gård, a lively country estate with sheep, cattle and chickens. In the attached country store, the farm's quality products are offered for sale.

The local gastronomy enjoys an excellent reputation, which is one of the many leisure and recreational activities available right by the sea. This is one of the reasons why Grinda's guest harbor Hemviken is a very popular destination for sailing boats. The harbor has room for 80 boats. "Cinderella" boats or the boats of Waxholmsbolaget usually come to Grinda directly from Stockholm.

Popular are vacation apartments and cottages as vacation quarters, but also the youth hostel and a well-kept campground.
