The South Westphalian "City of the Open University" is considered the gateway to the Sauerland region. In addition to the university, numerous gardens, parks and bodies of water characterize its townscape. Four major rivers run through the city and invite you to go canoeing or pedal boating. Hagen and its surroundings are considered an important region for finding fossils and relics from the history of the earth. In the interesting museum for prehistory and early history you can learn a lot of interesting facts about these objects. In addition, a visit to the varied open-air museum of handicrafts and technology is worthwhile. About 60 workshops have been faithfully reconstructed here - an experience for young and old. In addition, there are sights such as Hohenlimburg Castle or the impressive bunker museum to discover.
