If you're looking for relaxation in London, Hampstead Heath is the place to be. The park in the north of the English capital in the district of Hampstead is one of the most popular green spaces in London. In addition to numerous small oases of relaxation, you can also discover countless animal and plant species in their natural habitat.
The 320-hectare Hampstead Heath offers something for every taste. After all, diversity is writ large here - both for locals and for tourists from all over the world. While children and teenagers romp around on the various playgrounds, amateur sports enthusiasts can enjoy an unheated outdoor swimming pool in the south of the park or prove their fitness on a sports track and tennis courts. You will also find a zoo, several swimming ponds and of course numerous green areas to relax or barbecue areas to celebrate. Open-air concerts by various artists also take place regularly in the large park.
Some of the altogether 25 ponds can be used for fishing or for driving model boats. From Parliament Hill in the middle of the park, one can enjoy a great view of the city. This chance is used by the visitors of the park especially in the evening hours.
