The oldest residential building in the city is now also a museum. Built in the 14th century by the Tavel family, it gives visitors a taste of medieval Geneva in the heart of the old town. Since 1986, it has housed a historical collection on six floors, highlighting the historical development of Geneva's old town.

Visitors can also learn about everyday life in the Middle Ages, as well as the architecture of the small city palace itself. Tickets for the visit are available on site or online, the museum is closed on Monday. Admission is free for those under 18, and on the first Sunday of the month.
