Where to go first in Klagenfurt?
Klagenfurt's city center boasts an abundance of buildings from the Renaissance period. Numerous palaces, courtyards and squares are built in the style of this era.
Among the most famous is the "New Square". On it you can also admire the city's landmark, the Klagenfurt Lindwurm. This is a dragon-like mythical creature that also serves as the city's heraldic animal.

If you are interested in modern art, you should definitely pay a visit to the MMKK at Burggasse 8. On a total area of about 1,000 square meters, the works of national and international contemporary artists are exhibited here in more than 14 rooms.
For lovers of literature, we recommend the Robert Musil Literature Museum at Bahnhofstrasse 50, where exhibitions on Robert Musil, Christine Lavant and Ingeborg Bachmann can be seen in the house where the Austrian poet was born.

Klagenfurt is located almost directly on Lake Wörth. Due to its climatic location, it is one of the warmest lakes in the Alps. It hosts a huge lido on the eastern bay and is considered a paradise for sailors with its conditions. There is an illuminated running track along the shore. There is also a golf course here in Köstenberg near Velden.
On a voyage of discovery in Minimundus
An experience for the whole family is the Minimundus. This is an adventure world with more than 159 buildings from 40 different countries in miniature size. It has never been so easy to stroll on foot from the Taj Mahal to the Eiffel Tower.
Right next door is the Happ Reptile Zoo, where you can see a total of more than 1,000 reptiles, from pythons to chameleons, on 4,000 square meters.
