Læsø is the northernmost island in Denmark and lies in the Kattegat. For romantics seeking peace and quiet, the sparsely populated island is an ideal vacation destination. There are wonderfully long and wide beaches with the finest sand, the landscape is Nordic austere and a great feature are the houses with roofs made of seaweed, which can be found in the whole world only here on Læsø. Kelp also plays a crucial role in the island's cuisine and it is definitely worth trying one of these specialties, such as bread or pesto.
