The island of Lesbos in the northeastern Aegean Sea is the third largest island of Greece after Crete and Euboea. In the interior of the island you will find many romantic and traditional villages and towns. Here you can experience the original Greece. Hot thermal springs, the natural monument Petrified Forest in the west of the island and the medieval town of Molyvos or Mithymna are impressive reminders of past centuries. You should not miss the salt lagoons of Kalloni in the east of the island - just because of the flamingos. You can see and admire them from observation towers at the salt lagoons. And - not to forget the romantically situated mountain village Agiassos with the pilgrimage church Panagia.
