Lund
It is not least thanks to this academic orientation that the comparatively small town of Lund is home to renowned cultural institutions. These include the museum of sketches (Skissernas museum), which is committed to documenting artistic creative processes, and the art hall (Lunds konsthall), which focuses on modern art.
The history of the town, which is one of the oldest in Sweden and belonged to Denmark until 1658, as did the whole of Skåne, can be easily traced in the cobblestone streets of the old town, which are characterized by lovingly maintained brick and half-timbered houses. Here you will find cozy cafés, hip bars and clubs, especially those attracting a student crowd, as well as impressive sacred and secular buildings such as the cathedral (Domkyrka) or the former governor's residence Kungshuset. The city's four parks invite you to stroll in urban greenery.
