Marburg

Travel Guide & Travel Information
The university town of Marburg is one of the most beautiful historic towns in Hesse. Already recognized as a city since the 13th century, the settlement on the Lahn today belongs to the important educational centers of Hesse. The old city center is particularly interesting for tourists. Here are the historic buildings of the Old University as well as the Marburg Elisabeth Church, which characterize the cityscape as a landmark. But no building stands out as prominently as Marburg Castle, which towers over the city from afar. Once the residence of the landgraves of Hesse, it is now one of Marburg's most famous landmarks.
