The Stockholm Maritime Museum (Sjöhistoriska museet) is located on the northern shore of Djurgårdsbrunnsviken in the Gärdet district, very close to the Kakna tower. Opened in 1938, the museum displays numerous exhibits on the Swedish navy and merchant shipping, and other topics such as shipbuilding and underwater archaeology. A special attraction is the replica of the royal aft fort of King Gustav III's schooner "Amphion".
