Marl belongs to the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region and is located in the northern part of the Ruhr area. Culture is very important in the city of Marl. At the center of this is the Theater Marl. There, the audience is offered a wide variety of events at a high level. The city and especially the Theater Marl even become a meeting place for television celebrities during the annual awarding of the Grimme Prize. But also historically there is a lot to experience in Marl. Where is Marl?

Marl is a German city in the northwest of the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is located in the district of Recklinghausen, around 8 km northwest of the district city Recklinghausen. There are about 84.000 inhabitants living in Marl.

Marl also includes the formerly independent municipalities of Hamm, Lippramsdorf and Polsum.
