Antalya Archaeological Museum
Impressive collection in a total of 13 halls
In the Archaeological Museum in Antalya you can see ancient finds from different centuries and cultures in 13 halls. One of these rooms, for example, is completely dedicated to the Greek gods. The most impressive sculpture is probably the statue of the Greek hero Heracles.
Besides, museum is also world famous for its rich collection of ancient sculptures and sarcophagi. Other exhibits include weapons, jewelry, coins or fossils. But also musical instruments and children's toys from different eras can be discovered here. One of the highlights of the museum is the replica of a typical Antalya house. The various exhibits are extensively labeled in Turkish and English.

There is also a large children's area in the museum, where even the youngest museum visitors get their money's worth. In the outdoor area of the Archaeological Museum, in addition to a large garden, there is also an open-air museum.
The Archaeological Museum in Antalya was founded in 1922. 50 years later, the museum moved to its current impressive building. Visitors can discover the Archaeological Museum either on their own or through guided tours, which are offered in different foreign languages.
