The new Viking Museum "Vikingaliv" in Stockholm was inaugurated in April 2017. It is located on the island of Djurgården, right next to the Vasa Museum.

The life of the Vikings

The museum describes itself as an "experience museum" that aims to tell the true story of the Vikings and the Viking Age with numerous interactive elements, based on the latest scientific findings and archaeological finds. The exhibition is presented in Swedish and English, but there are also audio guides in German.

Ragnfrid's saga

The heart of the museum is the interactive exhibition Ragnfrid's saga, which shows the daily life of a fictional Viking family in the year 963. The story of Ragnfrid is told, taking visitors on an 11-minute journey with many audiovisual effects.

Ragnfrids saga is offered in German, Swedish, English, Russian, Finnish, Chinese, Spanish, Italian and French.
