Neuss

Travel Guide & Travel Information
Neuss is located on the left bank of the Lower Rhine, with Düsseldorf on the opposite side of the river. The city is one of the oldest cities in Germany. Already in 1984 Neuss could celebrate its 2000th birthday. Neuss is known for the well-preserved evidence of its Roman past as well as for the Rhine harbor, one of the largest inland harbors in Europe. In Neuss, the Middle Ages and the modern age meet: impressive medieval fortifications and remains of buildings from the Roman era can be seen just as much as modernly designed buildings. On a walk through the city, there is much for you to discover, such as the Blood Tower, a round tower that dates back to the 13th century.
