The Munich Olympic Park is one of the most popular leisure facilities in the city. It was created in 1972 as part of the Olympic Games and has since been home to some of the most relevant buildings in the Bavarian capital: the Olympic Stadium, the Olympic Hall and the Olympic Tower. The park offers a wide range of concerts, festivals, sports and events.

Here Munich is sporting

With an area of 850,000 square meters, the Olympic Park is the ideal meeting place for all those who want to do sports. The beautiful green area invites you to go jogging, walking, inline skating, playing mini golf or Nordic walking. In addition, there is an indoor swimming pool, a tennis court and a soccaFive arena, where young and old can let off steam during a sports session.

The indoor swimming pool offers a wide range of courses, including aqua jogging and spinal gymnastics. Afterwards, the sauna facility offers wellness and relaxation.

When the weather is nice, it is particularly idyllic to rent a rowing boat and enjoy the landscape from the Olympic Lake.

The monumental Olympic Stadium with its unmistakable tent roof

With its world-famous tent roof, designed by the architect Frei Otto, the imposing Olympic Stadium already served as the venue for the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympic Games in 1972. After that, it was mainly used for football matches until 2005, when it was taken over by the Allianz Arena. Nowadays, cultural events such as music concerts by international stars are held here regularly. But also sporting events like the DTM or X-Games have been hosted here.

The spectacular Olympic Hall

No less worth seeing is the Olympic Hall, which has also made a name for itself as an absolute trend location for concerts, musicals, plays and sporting events. In 2011, the Small Olympic Hall opened, which complements the large hall, but is also used as a separate event venue.

Fantastic views from the Olympic Tower

At 291.28 metres, the Olympic Tower is the second tallest building in Bavaria. It houses not only the TV tower, but also a revolving restaurant and rock museum. It can be reached by elevator and offers unique panoramic views of the Alps when visibility is good.
