The cable-stayed bridge, which is almost 8000 metres long with forerunners, impresses with its 206 metre high pylons, which allow a span of 490 metres. The construction of the imposing bridge was completed in only 40 months and cost one billion euros.

On the Danish side, the crossing of the Öresund begins with a tunnel that leads underneath the entrance to Copenhagen Airport to the artificial island of Peberholm. From there, the 7854-meter-long bridge leads above ground to Malmö.
