Money

Depending on where exactly the trip is going, it is advisable to have more or less cash with you. In countries where it is possible to pay by EC card in many places and where you can withdraw cash free of charge, it is not necessary to pack so much money in advance. If you are traveling to a country with a different currency, you should find out in advance about the exchange rate and find out whether it is better to change money at home or only locally. A credit card in your luggage is always practical, as it offers many advantages abroad. It is advisable to take two wallets with you, so that the actual wallet can stay in your accommodation and a small one can be taken to the beach - after all, the bag is often left unattended on the beach when swimming. Small money hiding places in the undressed clothes and shoes ensure that not all the money is immediately gone if the bag is stolen on the beach.

02

Personal hygiene

If you are taking off on a summer vacation by plane, you should take a large number of the hygiene items you need with you in travel size; this saves space in your suitcase. For hand luggage, the regulations regarding the carrying of liquids must be observed. Sunscreen, after-sun cream and moisturizer should not be missing, as the sun can quickly dry out the skin. Those who wash their hair daily after bathing in salt water should remember that shampoo consumption could be somewhat higher than at home and should definitely pack enough shampoo and shower gel.

Clothing

For the summer vacation mainly airy and light summer clothes belong in the luggage. Nevertheless, you should take sweaters, long pants and a thin jacket for the cooler evenings. If you want to do some sports during your summer vacation or want to explore the surroundings by hiking, you must of course pack the appropriate clothing and suitable footwear. Sunglasses and a hat or other headgear that protects from the sun should find a place in the suitcase. If you are staying in a hotel where elegant clothes are important for dinner, you should not forget them.

Bathing & Beach

For many people, bathing is the most important part of a summer vacation. It doesn't matter whether you want to refresh yourself in the hotel pool or in the sea. The appropriate swimwear must not be missing. Watch out: In some hotel pools, you are only allowed to swim in ordinary swimwear (bikini, swimsuit, swim trunks), but not in a shirt, for example, and sometimes not even in swim shorts.
