Paderborn is located in the east of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. In the city you will find especially many sights that you can visit. In the city center there are more than twenty historic buildings to discover. Particularly famous are the cathedral, the landmark of Paderborn, the magnificent town hall with the three-gabled facade and of course the 200 or so Pader springs that rise in the city and feed the river Pader. Paderborn also has a particularly large number of castles and palaces: one of them is Neuhaus Castle, one of the most important moated castles in Westphalia and the residence of the prince-bishops of Paderborn until 1802. Today it houses a school.

Paderborn is a German city in the east of the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia, around 148 km east of the state capital Düsseldorf. There are about 152.000 inhabitants living in Paderborn.

Paderborn also includes the formerly independent municipalities of Benhausen, Dahl, Elsen, Neuenbeken, Sande and Schloß Neuhaus.
