Rothenburg ob der Tauber is a German city in the northwest of the federal state of Bavaria. It is located in the district of Ansbach, around 30 km west of the district city Ansbach. There are about 11.000 inhabitants living in Rothenburg ob der Tauber.

Rothenburg ob der Tauber also includes the formerly independent municipalities of Leuzenbronn and Bettenfeld.
