The Indian Ocean is the third largest ocean and is located between Africa, Asia and Australia. In the south, it merges with the Southern Ocean. The largest and best known island in the Indian Ocean is Madagascar, located just off the coast of Africa. The islands of Indonesia are located in the northeast between Australia and Asia and separate the Indian Ocean from the Pacific Ocean.
