Solingen

The "blade city" forms the center of the German "cutlery industry". About 90 percent of our cutlery comes from this town in the Bergisches Land region. Solingen has one of the largest castles of its kind in Germany, the impressive "Schloss Burg". You should not miss a visit to this masterfully restored cultural site. Another landmark of the city and the Bergisches Land is the Müngsten Bridge, Germany's highest railroad bridge at 107 meters. Solingen has an outstanding reputation in the German rock scene, which calls it "Rock City No. 1". Many internationally known rock bands originate from here.
