Stuttgart

Stuttgart is the capital of the German state of Baden-Württemberg and home to Mercedes-Benz and Porsche. Both car brands operate their own museum. But even those who are less interested in cars will find a suitable museum to visit in Stuttgart: Works by Rubens, Rembrandt, Monet and Cézanne can be admired in the Old and New State Galleries, and the Württemberg State Museum provides information on the state's history from the Stone Age to modern times. A large number of other museums also deal with art and history, but also with natural history and ethnology. Several parks form a green belt and invite you to linger and stroll. Typical for Stuttgart are the Stuttgarter Stäffele. These are stairways that date back to the time of winegrowing. They were built so that the terraces could be reached. After increasing development and the displacement of winegrowing from the city, the Stäffele are now used as a footpath.
