A traditional Swedish fika consists of a hot cup of coffee and freshly baked coffee pastries (fikabröd). These are usually the typical Swedish cinnamon buns(kanelbullar), but also sweet puff pastry(wienerbröd) or other typical Swedish delicacies. If you like, you can also have a smörgås or macka with your coffee, i.e. a typical Swedish sandwich or roll topped with cheese, ham or other things. And instead of the classic filter coffee, the younger generation also likes to drink a latte macchiato or cappuccino.

The term "fika" is as typical as it is an indispensable part of everyday life in Sweden. It means taking a break to have a coffee and something to eat. Either at work with colleagues, in leisure time with family and friends, but also all alone at home or on the road. This also makes fika one of the reasons why the much-cited "life-work balance" is so much better in Sweden than in many other countries.

Because fika is such an integral part of everyday life in Sweden, you don't have to look far for it in Stockholm, you can get it practically everywhere: in the cafes and restaurants of the city, in almost all museums and of course also in the numerous kiosks of 7 Eleven and Pressbyrån.
