The Kurpark in Wiesbaden was created during the imperial era around 1900, but construction began as early as 1852. It was intended to be created in the style of an English landscape garden. Today it covers an area of 75,000 square metres and stretches from the Kurhaus in the city centre to the Sonnenberg district.

Around the spa park, large areas of villas were laid out, all of which date back to the Wilhelminian period. The visitor will find a pond with a water fountain and old trees from the early days of the park. Various art objects and monuments can also be found there.

Various places within the castle park are popular. At the Nizzaplatz you can find two columns of the old spa park. There is a concert shell between the pond and the spa house, where concerts used to take place regularly, but nowadays they are rare. Today pop concerts also take place in the park. Even the Dalai Lama was once a guest in the park and gave a speech here in front of 10,000 people. This visit was organized at that time by the Hessian Prime Minister Roland Koch. In World Cup times, public viewing takes place here.

The Nizza Square is located directly at the entrance, so you practically can't miss it. If you open the doors of the shell hall, you arrive directly at the Nizzaplätzchen.

There is also the small ice cellar in the spa park, in which until the beginning of the 20th century
ice bars were stored for cooling purposes, when there were no refrigerators yet. The ice cellar, which existed before the spa park was built, is no longer open to the public today.

The concert square offers space for public concerts in summer. An orchestra of 60 people can play on the concert square. More than 3000 spectators can be seated here. Visitors often marvel at the view over the park with the old trees-

The small concert terrace offers a magnificent view of the concert square, the concert shell and the adjacent pond.

The terrace is situated at the pond of the Kurpark. There you can enjoy the English landscape garden to the full. The Concert Terrace has been very popular for festivities and concerts since 2006.
