The Allianz Arena has been the home of FC Bayern Munich since 2005. The football stadium is located in the district of Fröttmaning, which belongs to the north of Munich. In addition to home games of the German football record champion, the Allianz Arena also regularly hosts games of the national football team. With around 75,000 seats, the Allianz Arena is the second largest football stadium in Germany.

Modern venue and architectural masterpiece

The Swiss architectural firm Herzog & de Meuron was entrusted with the planning of the modern stadium. The result not only satisfies the supporters of FC Bayern Munich but also attracts more than 1.2 million visitors to the stadium every year. The construction of this modern venue cost around 340 million euros. Through various extensions, the arena now offers a capacity of 75,021 seats.

A characteristic feature of the stadium is its special façade. It consists of more than 2,700 so-called foil cushions. At home games of the record champion, the façade shines in the colours red and white. At games of the German national team, the lighting is white. The lawn area of the modern venue covers almost 8000 square metres. High-tech video systems and LED floodlights round off the action on the pitch. In and around the stadium, numerous fan shops and kiosks offer visitors shopping opportunities and the chance to grab a snack. The FCB World of Experience in the Allianz Arena is also a magnet for visitors.

The perfect place for legendary football matches

After a construction period of about two and a half years, the German football record champion FC Bayern Munich was able to move into its new stadium in May 2005. Initially, the Allianz Arena was also considered the new venue for TSV 1860 Munich. Since 2017, the stadium has been the sole home of FC Bayern München. The imposing sports venue is not only responsible for many a goosebump moment among football fans but also impresses all other guests and visitors.

Many legendary games have already been played in the Allianz Arena. For example, the summer fairy tale was opened in this Munich stadium on 9 June 2006. The final of the Champions League in 2012 also took place there. A visit to the Allianz Arena, whether for a football match or a guided tour, will remain vivid in the memory of every guest.
