Syros
The name of the island originally means something like "rocky" - and that aptly describes what awaits you on Syros. In addition to the rugged natural formations, the island is home to the administrative center of the Cyclades. Accordingly, it is busy here all year round. Here you will especially meet Greeks from the mainland; international tourists are rather less to be found here. The cultural side is not neglected here either, and churches, a theater and a library are among the most important places on the island. If you are looking for beautiful beaches, you will find them on the southern and western side.
