Vulcano
Vulcano, the southernmost island of the Lipari archipelago, is considered the ancestral mother of all volcanoes. According to ancient legend, the god Vulcanus operated his forge here. When you see the steam of the fumaroles and breathe in the sulfur vapors, you can imagine how the ancient Greeks came up with this idea.
