In contrast to the neighboring island of Koh Samui, Ko Phangan is much less developed in terms of tourism, but it exudes its very own hippie charm that is hard to resist. If you want to relax on the beach, you should visit the north or northwest of the island. Mae Haad Beach and Malibu Beach are two of the most beautiful beaches on the island. Nature lovers will also get their money's worth. The Than Sadet Waterfall in the Than Sadet Koh Phangan National Park as well as the highest mountain of the island, the Khao Ra, are recommended as excursion destinations.
